After practicing law for 12 years, Laurie Phillips Dubin "retired" to raise her three children in Marin County, California. For the past 18 years, she has been actively involved in Marin public schools and in her community.
As a PTA Parent Education Chair, Laurie became impressed with the new science behind the effect of alcohol, marijuana and other drugs on the developing adolescent brain. At the same time, she became aware of the fact that Marin County's teen alcohol, binge drinking, marijuana and other drug related rates were among the highest in the state of California. An activist at heart, Laurie resolved to do her part as a parent to combat teen drug use in her community.
Meet the Founder,
Laurie Phillips Dubin
Laurie is also the founder of the Twin Cities Coalition for Healthy Youth, which is now The Coalition Connection, an organization funded by the Marin County Department of Health & Human Services and by SAMHSA pursuant to a Drug Free Communities (DFC) grant to reduce teen use of alcohol, marijuana and other drugs.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, Laurie earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law. Laurie is married and resides with her husband and their youngest high school aged daughter in Marin County, California.
